Hey,

I have just moved from Ireland and have been dancing Salsa for a few years, I've been dancing on 2 for a little while and wanted to know if anyone knew of any good schools that give intermediate/advanced on 2 classes during the week? Also any advice on good places for social dancing?

Thanks a mill for any information anyone might have

Hi Ruth, visit the Masacote School at: http://www.masacote.c... . There are classes offered for all levels from Intro to Advanced.

For social dancing, start with:

Tuesday, Wed, Thurs, Sunday: Ryles
Thurs: Caribe
Friday: Enigma's or Havana Club
Saturday: Conga's

The main on 2 night is Sunday at Ryles, although the on 2 scene is blossoming in Boston, so you no will find many on 2 dancers any night you go out in most places. You get to know the faces after a while.

Hi Ruth and Ana,

Conga's has recently been discontinued actually, so the only place open for Saturday salsa is Havana club.

But Saturdays aren't the best salsa night anyway :(

My personal favorite salsa nights are Caribe Thursdays and Havana Fridays.

By the way, the New York Salsa Congress starts today and lasts through the weekend, so a portion of Boston's salsa dancers will be out of town this week. But we'll all be ready to party hearty when we come back ;)

P.S. Ruth, I can dance on2 :) See you around on the dance floor ;)

Keoki, forgot about Conga's. Actually, though, this may be changing again. I'll update you if it does (or perhaps you'll update me :)

Also, many Boston dancers will definitely be in NY, including the majority of on2. however, that doesn't mean we'll all be out of town.

Also, I personally think Tuesday at Ryles & Friday at Enigma's are good too. And I love Sunday at Ryles whenever I actually get a chance to go. Thursday at Ryles has started picking up too with excitement over their Zumba schedule. I actually want to schedule a meetup there sometime as soon as we get some more assistant organizers.

Ana :)
